Groundbreaking+

We kicked-off of the construction of the PowerCo SE gigafactory in Sagunto, Valencia, with the presence of His Majesty King Felipe VI. As Spain’s first cell factory, the Sagunto plant will bring the country into a new automotive era. It has only been two years since we announced our goal to electrify Spain, and here we are already, breaking ground on this plant and accelerating together with Volkswagen AG, PowerCo and our Future: Fast Forward partners. The VW Group are transforming Spain into a sustainable European electromobility hub, with the ambition to generate an estimated impact of 21 billion euros, as well as 145,000 new jobs. The gigafactory will supply battery cells for the CUPRA UrbanRebel –the first electric vehicle produced in Martorell from 2025. More than 70 years ago, SEAT put Spain on wheels, and now we’re making history again by putting Spain on electric wheels.

Summer Event 2023+

The workshop for our PowerCo Spain colleagues was all about learning and connecting. With a growing and diverse team, it is important to take the time to get to know colleagues better and, above all, to identify and learn about intercultural differences. Especially significant was the visit to the old town of Sagunto: the location of #PowerCo Spain. This is where our second European cell factory is being built and where thousands of future colleagues will be employed. 🏭 So far, Sagunto is known for its direct coastal location and its historic old town, but soon it will be known for its e-mobility. 🔋 Amazing time full of knowledge, exchange and exciting discussions - but above all, fun!
