Operations takes care of all production related activities within the battery cell production. Our responsibilities vary from planning, constructing and rolling out the forthcoming battery cell factories. Furthermore, planning and implementing operating functions such as logistics, quality, production and plant management is also key elements within the area of operations.
  
 
How you will CELLebrate
  • Budgeting and Resource Planning: Prepare and manage the laboratory budget, define staffing requirements, and support recruitment by developing detailed job descriptions for roles within the Quality team.
  • Technical Specifications and Device Management: Define and assess technical specifications for all test devices in line with the control plan.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that equipment for our factories in Spain and Canada meets all technical and operational requirements.
  • Quality Facility Management: Oversee the planning, construction, and timely delivery of the quality facility, ensuring that it is completed on schedule and complies with all quality standards.
  • Coordinate closely with suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Supplier Evaluation and Budget Defense: Evaluate supplier quotations, prepare award proposals, present, and defend the laboratory budget to senior management.
  • Contingency Planning and Problem-Solving: Develop alternative solutions to meet project milestones, and proactively address any delays by implementing contingency plans.
  • Lab and At-Line Layout: Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of the laboratory and at-line layouts, adapting them to changing operational requirements.
  • Testing Procedures and Control Plans: Develop and implement testing procedures for raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods. Play an active role in revising and refining control plans to align with industry best practices.
  • Maintenance and Calibration: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable testing results.
  • Quality Issue Resolution: Identify quality issues, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions to resolve problems and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaboration with Production and Engineering: Work closely with production and engineering teams to address quality challenges and optimize overall operational performance.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff on testing processes, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Stay Current with Industry Trends: Continuously update knowledge of advancements in mechanical engineering, quality assurance, and industry trends to ensure practices remain at the cutting edge. • Promote Knowledge Transfer: Foster knowledge sharing within PowerCo Spain and across the PowerCo Group, supporting the exchange of resources and expertise.
  • Collaborate with Global Teams: Work closely with the PowerCo Global Laboratory Network and experts from ZellCo Salzgitter, PowerCo HQ, and PowerCo Canada to drive continuous process improvements
  
 
What you need for our CELLebration
  • Master’s degree or higher in material science or similar. Technical Skills
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Laboratory analysis and Test Equipment Planning.
  • Thorough understanding of automotive batteries.
  • Familiarity with analytical instruments and their principles..
  • Strong laboratory acumen with effective communication and presentation skills. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office.
