In this exhilarating phase, the Labor Relations and Employment Law Senior Expert plays a crucial role at PowerCo Spain. You will drive the development and execution of labor relations strategies, ensuring alignment with both regional and global objectives. This position demands a deep understanding of labor law, skillful negotiation of collective agreements, and effective management of labor relations to maintain a harmonious and compliant work environment.

 

How you will CELLebrate

As the Labor Relations and Employment Law Expert at PowerCo, you will be integral in shaping and managing labor relations within the region. This role involves collaborating with the headquarters in Salzgitter, Germany, to develop and implement labor relations strategies, negotiate and maintain collective agreements, and handle complex labor law issues. You will serve as a central legal advisor and contact person for management and the works council, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive labor environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement labor relations strategies in collaboration with headquarters, ensuring they are tailored to regional needs and aligned with global objectives.
  • Lead the negotiation, development, and maintenance of collective agreements and local labor regulations.
  • Address and process individual and collective labor law issues, establishing a competitive and compliant operational business framework.
  • Act as the primary legal advisor on individual legal, labor law, and personnel policy issues for management, coordinating with the works council on complex topics.
  • Conceptualize and enhance collective bargaining strategies, providing legal advice on the interpretation and application of these agreements.
  • Coordinate and lead local conciliation bodies, representing HR management in dispute resolutions.
     
 

What you need for our CELLebration

  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in labor relations and employment law, with a strong background in negotiating and maintaining collective agreements, handling complex labor law issues, and providing strategic labor relations advice.
  • A Law degree or a related field, with a strong preference for those with additional certifications or specializations in labor law and employment relations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of labor legislation and employment laws, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively in a multinational corporate environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement labor relations strategies that align with both regional needs and global corporate objectives.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of effectively managing relationships with works councils, management, and external legal entities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving individual and collective labor issues.
  • Proficient in English (B2 level) and Spanish (native speaker).
 

What else can you bring

  • Experience working in a multinational corporation, particularly with a German headquarters, is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in German is a significant plus, facilitating direct communication with the headquarters.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to foster a positive labor environment through constructive dialogue and collaboration.
  • Skills in leading conciliation bodies and managing complex projects related to labor relations and employment law.
