Senior Electrochemical Engineer Expert (all genders)

The mission hast started. We proudly announce that in our Battery Valley we are starting our own battery cell production and the ramp up of our worldwide headquarters for global cell manufacturing. The CTO organization takes care of the battery cell development. Our responsibility includes research, predevelopment of materials and components, series development, prototyping, testing and analysis of battery cells. 

  
 
How you will CELLebrate
  • Lead and Innovate: Spearhead the coordination, analysis, and interpretation of advanced experiments and battery testing on both automotive and laboratory scales. Uncover the electrochemical properties of electrodes and materials, leveraging your expertise in electrochemical simulation.
  • Drive the Future: Be at the forefront of developing next-generation batteries for e-mobility applications. Utilize your skills in electrochemical modeling to shape the future of sustainable transportation.
  • Collaborate and Excel: Lead and support strategic projects and partnerships. Work closely with interdisciplinary teams and external partners, using your experience in project management and collaborative development.
  • Hands-On Management: Oversee the development, coordination, monitoring, and analysis of battery tests. Manage samples, electrodes, and materials, and maintain a comprehensive test database. Apply your knowledge of electrochemical testing techniques and simulation methods.
  • Innovative Testing: Develop and refine measurement methods to test battery behavior and validate simulation models. Ensure accuracy and reliability through your expertise in electrochemical modeling and data analysis.
  
 
What you need for our CELLebration
  • Industry Experience & Educational Background: Several years of experience in the battery industry, particularly with battery cells. A successfully completed (under-)graduate degree in chemistry, materials science, physics, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a comparable qualification.
  • Technical Skills: Relevant experience in data analysis and good programming skills for data processing and visualization (e.g., MATLAB, Python, numpy, scipy, pandas, Plotly, Bokeh, PowerBI).
  • Passion for Innovation: A keen interest in developing the next generation of batteries and knowledge in the fields of Li-ion technology and electrochemistry.
  • Language Proficiency: Expert skills in English to thrive in our international team.
  
 
What else can you bring
  • Initiative and Adaptability: High degree of initiative and ability to grasp new concepts quickly. Ability to work on several projects and tasks in parallel.
  • Analytical Mindset: High analytical competence to solve complex problems.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with the organization of data in tables and data structures (e.g., SQL) and basic knowledge of SQL queries. Experience with PySpark and/or Databricks. Knowledge of battery simulations, e.g., in COMSOL Multiphysics.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills. Above-average ability to work in a team.
