Who we are

The mission has started. We proudly announce that in our Battery Valley we are starting our own battery cell production and the ramp up of our worldwide headquarters for global cell manufacturing. This includes ESS (Energy Storage System) & non-automotive applications. The ESS organization takes care of the upstream storage value chain. Our responsibility includes research, pre-development of materials and components, series development, prototyping, testing and analysis of ESS components & storages.

Your role and key responsibilities
  • Responsible for the technical design of the Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU/HV-Box) and other electrical components such as fuses, contactors, HV/NV connectors and cell connectors.
  • Definition of the general system architecture, technical requirements, suitable materials and components and specifications.
  • Design and implementation of cell-to-cell connections (HV+FPCB) in battery systems to ensure optimal performance, safety and proper communication and data transfer between cells.
  • Experience in electrical integration of the HV system with the Battery Management System (BMS) and the Power Conversion System (PCS).
  • Perform insulation coordination to ensure that the electrical components are safe under different operating conditions and to avoid breakdowns and short circuits.
  • Creating circuit diagrams and layouts in EPLAN or similar CAD tools.
  • Performing risk analyses and safety assessments to ensure that all electrical systems comply with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Ensuring electrical safety, including the implementation of protective measures against overcurrent, overvoltage and earthing.
  • Collaboration with other departments such as production, quality assurance, purchasing to ensure that products meet market requirements and are economically feasible.
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including specifications, test reports and user manuals.

What you bring to the team

  • In-depth knowledge of developing and analysing circuits, selecting and implementing fuses/contactors in high-voltage applications.
  • Knowledge of the requirements for insulation coordination in electrical systems, especially in high-voltage applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk assessment, failure modes and impact analysis for BESS.
  • Experience in using EPLAN or other CAE tools to create circuit diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Experience in performing electrical simulations (e.g. SPICE, MATLAB Simulink) to analyse the behaviour of HV components and optimise system performance.
  • Experience in the design, development and implementation of battery storage systems, including knowledge of sample stage design, test procedures and production processes.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g. IEC, UN, UL, ISO) as well as the specific regulatory requirements for BESS.

What makes you stand out
