Your role and key responsibilities

 

We're looking for a Specialist, Learning & Development to join the team! Reporting to our Senior Manager, Learning, Culture & Diversity, the Specialist, L&D coordinates and delivers L&D initiatives by managing projects, optimizing processes, and developing training content. Additionally, this role will leverage data-driven insights to enhance learning initiatives, align training programs with business objectives and partner across functions to foster a culture of continuous development.

 

This role is available on a full-time onsite basis at our St. Thomas, ON office. 

  
 
What you bring to the team

 

Project Coordination

 

  • Lead and coordinate multiple L&D projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Drive the development of a strong learning organization culture, fostering a continuous learning environment across all levels of the organization.
  • Design and implement a structured approach to learning that supports long-term organizational goals.

 

LMS & KPI Management

 

  • Oversee the management of Learning Management System (LMS) records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Optimize the use of the LMS to enhance user experience and training effectiveness.
  • Identify key training KPIs to measure the effectiveness of learning initiatives and track progress against these metrics.
  • Utilize data to provide insights, forecast trends, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

 

Content Creation

 

  • Create visually appealing and engaging training content that incorporates known learning strategies, ensuring material is accessible and effective.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop content that meets the diverse needs of the organization.

 

Training Needs Analysis & Planning

 

  • Develop and implement a process for conducting training needs analysis across the organization.
  • Plan and schedule training offerings based on the identified needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

 

Liaison & Collaboration

 

  • Act as a key liaison to internal customers and training coordinators across various departments, ensuring that L&D initiatives align with departmental needs and organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between departments to ensure consistent delivery and application of training programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to training coordinators in the development and execution of department-specific training initiatives.

 

Budget Planning & Tracking

 

  • Take responsibility for budget planning and tracking for all L&D projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure that all L&D activities are cost-effective, staying within budget while maximizing the impact of training programs.
  • Regularly report on budget status, identifying and addressing any variances in a timely manner.

 

Process Design & Adherence

 

  • Work with global counterparts to implement global processes and localize as needed
  • Ensure adherence, including regular audits and documentation review
  
 
What makes you stand out

 

  • Bachelor's Degree of equivalent experience
  • 3–5 years of experience with Project Management, Process Governance, Coordination, or a similar role involving the design, implementation, and maintenance of processes, programs, or administrative frameworks
  • Alternatively, an L&D professional with experience managing or supporting multiple functional areas, with the ability to understand end-to-end workflows and coordinate across disciplines such as training, curriculum development, e-learning, needs analysis, process improvement, or related functions.
  • Proven knowledge of instructional techniques and delivery methods to engage learners and enhance retention
  • Proficiency in data analytics to identify gaps and measure the effectiveness of training programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with compliance principles and cultural adaptation in a corporate setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Excel and PowerBI for data analysis and visualization, comfort working with databases and highly proficient with PowerPoint, with an eye for good design and presentation principles
  • Ability to travel up to 5% within Ontario and internationally
  • Ability to maintain flexible work hours to account for time zone differences with Europe, when necessary

•    Attractive Remuneration: The expected competitive compensation range for this position is $74,337 - 111,000, which includes base pay and target amount of short term incentive plan.
