Your role and key responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable BSI Construction Specialist (Schedule Specialist) to join our Battery Specific Infrastructure (BSI) team. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical and operational interface between PowerCo and external suppliers, ensuring seamless coordination, high-quality execution, and adherence to project objectives across all construction activities related to battery-specific systems. Reporting directly to the Head of BSI.

 

This position is in-person and located in the charming town of St. Thomas ON.

  
 
What you bring to the team

 

Construction Planning & Progress Governance
Lead the preparation, continuous monitoring, and strategic updating of the construction schedule, ensuring alignment with overall project milestones and proactively identifying schedule risks and mitigation measures. Provide weekly progress assessments and ensure that deviations are escalated with corrective action plans.

 

On-Site Supervision & HSE Compliance
Conduct daily site inspections to oversee construction progress, verify compliance with PowerCo’s quality and HSE standards, and ensure contractor adherence to regulatory and project requirements. Identify HSE risks and initiate immediate corrective actions in collaboration with contractors and HSE teams.

 

Cross-Functional Coordination & Stakeholder Alignment
Organize, lead, and document regular construction coordination meetings with contractors, design teams, internal stakeholders, and PMO representatives, ensuring effective communication and timely closure of action items. Monitor the implementation and results of coordination meetings, tracking open issues until resolution.

 

Reporting & Documentation Control
Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly construction site reports, integrating progress data, risk assessments, resource status, and compliance findings. Ensure timely collection, review, and validation of material certificates, quality documentation, completion records, audit documentation, and contractor minutes in alignment with project audit and handover requirements.

 

Regulatory & Authorization Support
Support all official authorization processes required for construction activities, ensuring that documentation, drawings, and compliance evidence meet local regulatory requirements.

 

Quality Assurance, Acceptance & Defect Resolution
Lead the technical acceptance of construction services together with planning and supervision teams, ensuring delivered work meets design specifications, contract scope, and quality standards. Coordinate the identification, documentation, and categorization of defects and discrepancies during acceptance inspections. Oversee and verify the timely rectification of all identified defects, ensuring closure prior to handover and compliance with contractual obligations.

 

Handover & Commissioning Support
Organize and manage the structured handover of completed construction packages, ensuring all documentation, tests, inspections, and quality records are fully completed and compliant. Support commissioning teams by ensuring site readiness, clearance of defects, and availability of required documentation.

 

You will lead and coordinate all schedule‑related activities across BSI by maintaining an accurate, integrated timeline, collecting progress updates, identifying risks and delays, and providing early warnings and scenario‑based assessments. In parallel, you will ensure schedule alignment across engineering, construction, procurement, logistics, commissioning, and supplier teams, supporting change management, cross‑functional coordination, and timely, high‑quality delivery of all BSI project milestones.

  
 
What makes you stand out

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Construction Management
• Experience in one or multiple system: HVAC, MEP, Automation, Fire protection, Media supply
• Experience in Battery, Pharmaceutical, semi-conductor Clean & Dry room project management is preferred
• Ability to adapt to and maintain flexibility with the juggling of multiple projects
• Advanced competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Advanced competency with Planning software (Microsoft Project, Primavera etc )
• Working knowledge of OneDrive, SharePoint, MS Teams, Concur and SAP strongly desired
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

•    Attractive Remuneration: The expected competitive compensation range for this position is $78,260 - $117,380 CAD, which includes base pay and target amount of short term incentive plan.
