Reporting to the CFO, the Project Controller will be responsible for the investment planning. This includes the preparation of monthly annual forecasts, annual budget and 5-year budget planning.  

 

This is a flex hybrid model, requiring a minimum of 2 days in the St. Thomas office.

  
 
How you will CELLebrate

•    Creation of corresponding project structures in the SAP-based ERP system
•    Preparation and organization of the weekly investment release committee of PowerCo SE
•    Preparation of corresponding deviation analyses as part of the project progress, tracking deliverables of project, providing progress reports, targets and milestones in support of proactive management decisions
•    Participation in the interdisciplinary preparation of VW internal committee appearances   
•    Supporting future locations in setting up an internal investment controlling system
•    Participation in the development of the control concept of the operational location of the Gigafactory in St. Thomas, ON and contribution of corresponding data to the overall financial planning 
•    Develop transparent and consistent forecasts, with monitoring of risks and opportunities with all stakeholders on an ongoing basis and provide recommendations around risk mitigation / opportunity utilization.
•    Develop, maintain continuity and operationalize the budget process throughout the organization. Coordinate with all areas to ensure that plans are being met in terms of strategic assumptions and spending optimization
•    Provides financial expertise to the Leadership and Operational teams and supports to steer the business 
•    Develop, implement and monitor major Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
•    Prepare reporting of operational investment performance for executive management presentation and review
•    Brief CFO on decision topics and provide recommendation based on own analysis

  
 
What you need for our CELLebration

•    Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or  related fields, and/or equivalent relevant work experience
•    Strong knowledge of financial performance indicators
•    3+ of professional experience in the field of controlling

  
 
What else can you bring

•    Experience working with large invest projects 
•    2+ years’ hands-on experience with SAP 
•    High assertiveness and analytical competence as well as very good presentation skills
•    Above-average initiative, problem-solving skills and a high degree of teamwork
•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex financial processes and identify risks and process improvements.
•    Ability to respond quickly to changing environments
•    Strong business acumen – understanding of large, complex organizations and ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
•    Strong team player, ability to work both independently as well as with a diverse team
•    Knowledge of German would be considered an asset.
•    Some travel both nationally and internationally (~20-30%)
