About the Role
|
We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor who wants to CELLebrate in a fast-paced and fast-changing environment. As part of the ramp-up team of our new Canadian location, you will report to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing a team of technicians to ensure the proper maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, machinery, and infrastructure. This role ensures compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations while minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring safety. (Focus on Electrical Aspects).
This position is located at our St. Thomas, ON location and is required to be fully onsite.

Key Responsibilities
|
- Supervise and direct Maintenance technicians in keeping, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems, motors, panels, and control circuits;
- Train and mentor maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Plan and assign daily maintenance tasks to ensure minimal downtime.
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and management to support plant operations.
- Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols are followed.
- Develop maintenance schedules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and early-stage equipment failures.
- Ensure the manufacturing site operates at optimal efficiency through regular maintenance activities.
- Lead and Implement long-term solutions for equipment reliability and performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.

What you bring to the Team
|
• Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field. • Holds a valid Industrial Electrician (309A/442A) License for at least 3 years • Proven experience (5 years) in an industrial Maintenance role and/or Commissioning or Installation, preferably within a lithium-ion battery manufacturing environment. Chemical Industry, Pharmaceutical, or Components assembly. • Strong knowledge of automated systems, including PLCs, robotics, VFDs and HMI systems. • Proficiency in using CMMS/EAM systems for maintenance tracking and reporting. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and repair complex automation issues. • Effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. • Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant safety protocols and guidelines. • Familiarity with material handling, conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, drive systems, and industrial automation. • Interpret electrical prints and OEM documentation proficiently. • General electrical knowledge including relay control, transformers (HV/LV), and calibration / instrumentation. • Strong Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Code • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment related to electrical work. • Identify and report safety hazards. • Good written and oral communication skills (English). • Able to read part processing drawings and understand electrical/automation processing technology. • Familiar with production processes and knowledge of related equipment on production lines. • Familiar with common measuring instruments and can control quality. • Ability to work according to tight schedules and timelines and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. • Availability for international trips and training of up to 3 months. • Experience with equipment installation, commissioning and service is a must. |
