How you will CELLebrate
|
- Collaborate with project teams, and contractors during the setup of equipment and systems.
- Extensive skills with AUTOCAD, REVIT, Word, Acrobat & Excel (Micro Station, Power simulation software and other design tools an asset).
- Obtaining information from equipment suppliers and incorporating in designs and specifications.
- Preparation of schematics, project documents. Independent review of shop drawings.
- Review of quotations from contractors.
- Working with medium and high voltage power distribution systems and components.
- Protection & control circuits and logics.
- Conducting power engineering design and analysis.
- Working with PLC based industrial control systems and SCADA systems.
- Working with AC and DC drives to control large motors.
- Working and troubleshooting industrial automation networks.
- Executing and coordinating large scale electrical and automation installation projects.
- Integrate innovative technologies into the plant.
- Train and develop employees in technical and/or project related information.
- Conduct Technical Studies to support CAPEX investments.
- Support process improvement projects where applicable.
- Oversee electrical modifications, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Development and management of internal engineering and/or project management procedures.
- Create, review, approve and issue engineering drawings as required for modifications, installations, and maintenance/repair purposes. Stamping of drawings is not required.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and troubleshooting programs for the plant PLCs and computer control systems.
- Review and keep updated operation manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Perform equipment verification and ensure compliance with technical specification.
- Conduct pre-operational tests to confirm system functionality and safety compliance.
- Develop maintenance schedules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols.
- Training in new equipment and software, including computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Identify and stock critical spare parts and establish an inventory system.
- Monitor and optimize equipment during the initial stages of production to ensure it meets operational targets.
- Provide immediate technical support for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Conduct detailed inspections of equipment on initial production cycles to address mechanical, electrical, or software issues.
- Assist in fine-tuning equipment settings and calibrations to meet production quality standards.
- Document and address recurring issues for continuous improvement.
- Train operators and other staff in basic maintenance and equipment handling practices.
- Ensure the manufacturing site operates at optimal efficiency through regular maintenance activities.
- Implement long-term solutions for equipment reliability and performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Continuously review and refine maintenance strategies based on equipment performance data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute upgrades or modifications to equipment.
- Drive improvements in work order effectiveness, completion rates, backlog reduction, and establish prioritized work orders with enhanced methods and procedures, contributing to measurable improvements in maintenance-related downtime and associated costs

What you need for our CELLebration
|
- University degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or eligible to be registered.
- Years of Relevant Experience Required: +5 years of experience (set- up, adjustments, and troubleshooting)

What else can you bring
|
- Proven experience (5 years) in an industrial Maintenance role and/or Commissioning or Installation, preferably within a lithium-ion battery manufacturing environment. Chemical Industry, Pharmaceutical, or Components assembly.
- Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to the continuous improvement efforts of CAPEX and maximize the efficiency of the overall department operation.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to articulate ideas, detail oriented, and comfortable dealing with associates at all levels within the organization.
- Familiarity with design requirements for Building Power, Lighting, fire protection, and Communications systems.
- Strong knowledge of automated systems, including PLCs, robotics, VFDs and HMI systems.
- Proficiency in using CMMS/EAM systems for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and repair complex automation and electrical issues.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant safety protocols and guidelines.
- Familiarity with material handling, conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, drive systems, and industrial automation.
- Interpret electrical prints and OEM documentation proficiently.
- General electrical knowledge including relay control, transformers (HV/LV), and calibration / instrumentation.
- Strong Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Code and CSA safety standards is an asset.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment related to electrical work.
- Identify and report safety hazards.
- Able to read part processing drawings and understand electrical/automation processing technology.
- Familiar with production processes and knowledge of related equipment on production lines.
- Familiar with common measuring instruments and can control quality.
- Ability to work according to tight schedules and timelines and independently and in a team environment.
- Availability for international trips and training of up to 3 months.
- Experience with PLCs, robotics (Fanuc/Kuka), with a preference for Siemens S7 (desirable).
- Experience with equipment installation, commissioning and service is desirable.
