About the Role

The MES Solution Specialist will be responsible for the implementation, support, and continuous improvement of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) across our production lines. This role serves as a critical link between production, IT, engineering, and quality to ensure our MES system drives efficiency, traceability, and real-time visibility into operations. In this role, you will be reporting to Digital Solution Roll-out Manager with the main focus on MES in St Thomas site. Moreover, you will be representing St. Thomas factory in the central digitalization team where most of these initiatives are defined, designed, developed and tested before rolling out to local site. Your expertise will bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery, ensuring smooth transitions and measurable outcomes from our digital initiatives.

 

This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.

  
 
Key Responsibilities

•    Support central digitalization team in design, configure, and deploy MES solutions tailored to battery manufacturing processes.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Engineering, IT) to gather requirements and translate them into MES functionalities.
•    Gain a deep understanding of battery production process, interfaces with equipment and follow up changes.
•    Record and specification of digital requirements from the production area.
•    Participate in new equipment development meetings (from design stage to implement and SAT equipment) to ensure the suitability of MES for production line.
•    Support in the development of data-based models for digital solutions.
•    Coordinate integration of MES with other enterprise systems (IT, ERP, PLM, LIMS, PLCs, QMS, etc.).
•    Ensure real-time data acquisition, traceability, and reporting of key production metrics.
•    Ensure compliance with internal governance, data privacy, and security standards during rollout.
•    Make sure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to data integrity and manufacturing control.
•    Coordination of machine connectivity and gateway connection to  equipment on the shopfloor in the rollout.
•    Rollout coordination of MES system within the VSM organization (equipment development team).
•    Steer and collaborate with 3rd party suppliers working on MES solution.
•    Lead connectivity between production equipment and digital systems, ensuring accurate real-time data capture and analysis.
•    Share key insights and learnings from initial acceptance and testing
•    Participate integration and testing MES interfaces with other enterprise solutions such as ERP, PLM, etc.
•    Lead development of potential improvements through digital solutions in the production line.
•    Support shop floor personnel in troubleshooting MES-related issues.
•    Manage MES upgrades, patches, and ongoing system enhancements.
•    Develop and maintain documentation including user manuals, training materials, and system architecture diagrams.
•    Conduct training sessions for end-users and key stakeholders.
•    Preferably configure MES software to align with needs and changes on the shopfloor.

  
 
What you bring to the Team

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus (Master’s preferred).
•    3+ years of work experience in developing digital solutions for a manufacturing industry, preferably a battery production
•    +3 years of working in a manufacturing organization to understand how a manufacturing company works and what is expected from digitalization.
•    Experience of implementing an MES system is a must.
•    Hands-on experience of Schneider AVEA or Nexeed is a plus.
•    Understanding of traceability in both process and discrete manufacturing is key.
•    Knowledge of battery manufacturing is an advantage.
•    Experience of PLM, BAS, SAP, LIMS is a plus.
•    Basic knowledge of database and other IT systems (servers, VMs, APIs, OPC protocols)
•    Project management and leadership skills are required for coordinating with various stakeholders.
•    Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar platforms
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
•    Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
•    Ability to adapt to changing requirements and new technologies.
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
