Your role and key responsibilities

Are you a driven and ambitious engineering student looking for a unique co-op experience in a dynamic and innovative battery technology company?

 

For the ramp-up phase of our North American operations, we are looking for a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Student with a focus on Logistics Technologies, to plan and implement logistics technologies like AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicle), ASRS (Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems), conveyors and other various equipment for the PowerCo facility in St. Thomas. You will support and contribute to the PowerCo logistics team to achieve the objectives of the logistics rollout project of PowerCo Canada.

 

This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.

  
 
What you bring to the team

- Plan, design and implement logistics technologies and equipment solutions for PowerCo Canada's local St. Thomas facility. 
- Become a fully integrated team member and collaborate with a team of engineers in Canada and Germany to develop and implement material handling solutions for logistics operations.
- Work hands-on to apply engineering principles and skills to real-world projects and tasks.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to provide updates, progress reports, and recommendations.
- Prepare technical specifications and price sheets based on logistics requirements.
- Lead RFPs/RFQs for various logistics equipment and communicate with purchasing team in the RFQ process.
- Build and foster strong working relationships with all our current and potential vendors.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to layout, design and manufacturability.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working on technologies.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation of project plans, designs, and results.
- Plan and steer projects regarding the layout, installation and project management of the equipment.
- Actively contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting project timelines and goals.
- Collaborate closely with other departments within PowerCo Canada, and PowerCo SE headquarters.

  
 
What makes you stand out

- Pursuing A Bachelors Degree In Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Or A Related Field and in an accredited Co-op program.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in an environment of shifting priorities, timelines, and occasional ambiguity.
- Proficient In CAD software and able to create detailed drawings and models.
- Proficient in MS Office software package (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

 

Need to be able to go on construction site/shopfloor frequently and for longer periods of time. Need to be able to climb ladders, stairs etc. on construction site.

This posting is for a currently vacant role. Hourly wage of $27/hour.
