About the Role

For the ramp-up phase of our North American operations, we are currently seeking an experienced and motivated law clerk/legal assistance to join our team.

 

As a law clerk/legal assistant you will have strong communication skills and excellent experience drafting various legal documents, as well as very good experience in managing files, schedules and calendars. You will also have first-rate organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment, along with the ability to work effectively within a team and to communicate well with clients.

 

This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days in the St. Thomas office.

  
 
Key Responsibilities

•    Draft legal documents, including memoranda, pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.

•    Perform general administrative duties such as managing calendars, scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, creating expenses reports, and document and internal processes management.

•    Provide support to the Legal department with legal research on statutes, case law, and regulations. 

•    Manage case files, organize legal documents, and maintain accurate records.

•    Communicate with clients, courts, and other parties regarding case updates.

•    File legal documents.

•    Assist in reviewing and summarizing legal documents and contracts.


 

  
 
What you bring to the Team

•    Post-secondary education in Legal administration and/or Law Clerk Diploma
•    Bachelor’s degree in pre-law, political science, or a related field (recommended) 
•    3+ years of legal experience as a law clerk
•    Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Excellent writing, proofreading, and analytical skills.
•    Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
•    Strong professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
•    Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and handle complex cases independently.
•    Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.
•    Effective collaboration and team work, demonstrated professionalism and tact
•    Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
•    High level of integrity and trust
