This exciting opportunity is based in the charming town of St. Thomas, Ontario, and has a hybrid model of 2-days in office.

 

PoweCo Canada is seeking a Head of Digitalization to oversee all digitalization activities at our St. Thomas battery cell plant. This pivotal role is designed to drive the plant’s digital capabilities, ensuring they align seamlessly with our global digitalization strategy.

  
 
How you will CELLebrate

•    Responsible for the planning and execution of digitalization activities of PowerCo in Canada (regional/domestic/plant level)
•    Responsible for executing the digital strategy and creating a roadmap for the plant in alignment with global corporate standards.
•    Responsible for building up the Digitalization organization in St. Thomas plant and headcount ramp-up (white collar), including definition of the organization structure in alignment with central digitalization department.
•    Responsible for recruiting, leading and mentoring of the team of digitalization experts.
•    Responsible for planning, sourcing, operating and optimizing of the digitalization landscape in alignment with the central PowerCo SE digitalization department and according to the standardized digitalization architecture and processes.
•    Responsible for defining and implementing digitalization processes and technology within budget, technical/quality specifications, and defined timelines
•    Responsible for operative digitalization cost management (OPEX) and active KPI management
•    Responsible for digital shopfloor management to ensure operational excellence.
•    Selecting and steering of external partners and service providers for operating the digitalization landscape within the plant
•    Responsible for analysing existing business and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvements in the digitalization landscape and for realizing improvements with the help of digitalization Responsible for performance monitoring of digitalization systems and continuous improvement by regularly gathering feedback and iterating on digital initiative.
•    Responsible for change management activities to ensure adaptation of the digitalization landscape.
•    Responsible for managing the digitalization budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently.
•    Responsible to ensure cross-functional communication to collaborate closely with production, IT, and other departments to ensure the integration of digital processes and systems across the factory.
•    Responsible for a smooth ramp-up of the plant by ensuring that all digitalization personnel, processes and infrastructure, and equipment are available as per the aligned milestones.
•    Responsible for reporting about digitalization initiatives and operations to provide regular updates about progress, challenges and initiative to senior management and headquarters.
•    Responsible for regular communication with central headquarters to align local initiatives.

  
 
What you need for our CELLebration
  • Education Required: College or University degree in business administration engineering, production engineering, computer science or similar. Extensive experience in digitalization and manufacturing management functions in manufacturing industries.
  • Years of Supervisory Experience Required: 5+ years of experience in industrial digitalization or planning roles within manufacturing (ideally in battery cell industry), with deep understanding of manufacturing processes, factory operation, and required digital tools and processes.
