About the Role

The Customer Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating all activities related to the planning and control of outbound shipments of finished battery cells. In the ramp-up phase, this role will define, align, adopt and implement outbound logistics standard processes, including defining IT software requirements. In the series phase, this role ensures that shipment schedules are met by monitoring finished goods inventory and aligning with dispatch timelines. In addition, the Specialist manages all logistics-related claims, including investigating complaints, processing claims, and arranging replacement deliveries as needed. The position also conducts complaint analyses, identifies root causes, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to define and implement corrective and preventive measures that enhance overall logistics performance. 

 

This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.

  
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and localize PowerCo standard logistics processes and information flows with the main focus on outbound/customer logistics for the St. Thomas facility. Suggest, define and align local adaptations to outbound/customer logistics processes based on standards and concepts provided by PowerCo headquarters, continually improving for increased efficiency and ensuring scalability.
  •  Define regional guidelines for all partners in the distribution chain for a standardized process for customer service for PowerCo Canada, in alignment with PowerCo headquarters.
  • Coordinate outbound deliveries to OEM customers, with a primary focus on rail (boxcar) transportation across North America.
  • Define, align, and maintain logistical premises with OEMs, including order management, communication flows, shipment execution, documentation, packaging, labelling, transportation modes, and claims management.
  • Plan, define, and implement import and export processes for PowerCo Canada in coordination with internal stakeholders and external service providers, ensuring compliance with Canadian customs regulations and international trade requirements.
  • Apply Dangerous Goods and packaging certifications, ensuring future shipments meet regulatory, safety, and customer-specific standards.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and PowerCo headquarters to support final implementation, ramp-up, and go-live activities for new programs and series production.
  • Monitor logistics performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service reliability, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Control dispatch activities in accordance with the dispatch schedule (daily, weekly, and 4-week planning).
  • Plan and secure operational carrier capacity, including special transport arrangements when required.
  • Monitor and manage finished goods inventory to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with production steering, and other departments to ensure adherence to the dispatch plan.
  • Manage container operations, including inventory control, condition monitoring, repairs, exchanges, and cleanliness standards.
  • Receive, investigate, and process logistics-related customer complaints (e.g., container condition, quantity discrepancies, incorrect deliveries, labeling issues).
  
 
What you bring to the Team
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably within the automotive industry (Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier) or other high-volume, quality-critical manufacturing environments.
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP, APICS/ASCM) or certification in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (PLog, CLTD, APICS/ASCM) is preferred
  • Understanding of container management and returnable packaging processes is an asset.
  • Experience with international shipping, customs documentation, and export compliance is an asset.
  • Proven background in working with ERP systems, preferably SAP (SD)
  • Demonstrated success in process flow optimization, continuous improvement projects, or Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Attractive Remuneration: The expected competitive compensation range for this position is $78,260 - $117,380 CAD, which includes base pay and target amount of short term incentive plan.
