About the Role

The Customer Logistics Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling outbound shipments of finished battery cells. This role plays a key part in implementing PowerCo’s global logistics standards, optimizing local processes, and ensuring efficient, compliant, and on-time deliveries to customers.

 

This is a flexible work arrangement requiring 2 days per week onsite at the St. Thomas, ON location, with flexibility required based on the needs of the business

  
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and localize PowerCo’s standard customer logistics processes for the St. Thomas facility.
  • Define and align logistics procedures with PowerCo headquarters and our customers to ensure consistent, scalable operations.
  • Coordinate shipment planning, carrier capacity, and dispatch schedules (including rail and road shipments) to meet customer and production timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with all dangerous goods handling and shipment regulations for domestic and international deliveries.
  • Monitor finished goods inventory and ensure timely order fulfillment in line with dispatch plans.
  • Manage logistics-related customer claims, including investigation, resolution, and corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics performance.
  • Define and implement import/export procedures in compliance with Canadian customs regulations.
  • Serve as SAP key user (S/4HANA – SD, TM) for outbound logistics, including gathering requirements, supporting users, conducting testing, and leading training initiatives.
  • Maintain master data accuracy and collaborate with IT and process owners on system improvements.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on shipping performance, claims, and logistics KPIs.
  
 
What you bring to the Team
  • Post-secondary education with a focus on Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Experience in automotive or other high-volume, quality-focused manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong preference for experience within the automotive industry (Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier) or other high-volume, quality-critical manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success in process flow development, SOP generation and continuous improvement projects
  • Robust knowledge of shipping, transportation (road and rail preferred)and carrier management, including freight claims.
  • Proven experience with SAP (S/4HANA – SD, TM) required.
  • Familiarity with international shipping, customs documentation, and export compliance is an asset.
  • Understanding of container management and returnable packaging processes
