This exciting opportunity is based in the charming town of St. Thomas, Ontario, and requires in-person attendance. 

 

The Civil Infrastructure Works Lead will oversee the civil and infrastructure development for the greenfield construction of a large-scale manufacturing plant in Ontario, Canada including . The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale civil engineering works in industrial or manufacturing settings. This role demands a leader with strong technical expertise who can successfully deliver the infrastructure scope while ensuring the construction schedule, budget and maintain project integrity with highest standards of safety, quality, environmental compliance, and sustainability.. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying, assessing, and implementing changes within the project, ensuring adherence to relevant standards, and maintaining clear communication among stakeholders.

  
 
How you will CELLebrate

•    Lead and manage the civil engineering and infrastructure scope for the project, including site preparation, grading, roads, utilities (water, electricity, drainage, fencing), and all other essential infrastructure systems. 
•    Develop, implement, and manage detailed civil works plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for the full project lifecycle, ensuring that the work progresses according to the overall project timeline and goals.
•    Coordinate with project managers, design teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure that all infrastructure works are completed on time and within the project’s defined budget.
•    Collaborate with design consultants, architects, and engineers to create optimized, sustainable infrastructure designs that meet the operational and regulatory needs of the new manufacturing facility
•    Ensure that infrastructure designs are constructible, cost-effective, and sustainable, with careful consideration of long-term plant operations and environmental impact.
•    Act as the primary liaison between the civil works team, the project's leadership team, contractors, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.
•    Coordinate infrastructure activities with other project disciplines (e.g., structural, mechanical, electrical), ensuring seamless integration of systems across the project.
•    Regularly report on progress, challenges, and milestones to senior management, making sure any issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
•    Conduct regular inspections of the construction site to ensure adherence to the project’s design and specifications, resolving any discrepancies or issues.
•    Proactively identify and assess potential risks associated with the civil and infrastructure works, including site-specific challenges, geotechnical considerations, and regulatory hurdles.
•    Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent delays, cost overruns, or disruptions to the construction schedule.
•    Address any technical, logistical, or design-related challenges that may arise during construction, ensuring minimal disruption to the project.
•    Promote a collaborative and productive work environment, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the project’s objectives and safety protocols.
•    Act as a central point of contact for all civil and infrastructure related issues, ensuring transparency and alignment across departments.
 

  
 
What you need for our CELLebration
  • 5+ years of experience in managing civil and infrastructure works on greenfield projects, especially for large-scale industrial or manufacturing facilities. Strong knowledge of Ontario building codes, local construction regulations, and industry standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or some other construction-related field of study, or equivalent.

•    Detail oriented and will diligently ensure that components of the project meet the overall goal.
•    Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
•    Strong organizational and time management skills.
•    Primarily at construction project office with some time spent in the office for coordination and planning.
•    Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP).
•    Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to large construction projects is an asset.
•    Professional engineering certification (e.g., P.Eng in Ontario) is highly desirable.
•    Experience in Oracle ACONEX and Primavera is an asset.
