Your role and key responsibilities

As a BSI MEP Intern, you will support the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) specific activities across the full gigafactory project life cycle—from early design coordination through construction, commissioning, and system readiness. Working alongside experienced BSI team, you will help maintain technical documentation, participate in field and design coordination activities, and contribute to communication across engineering, contractor, and commissioning teams. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to large‑scale industrial MEP systems, with a particular emphasis on electrical systems, system integration, and cross‑discipline coordination.

What you bring to the team
  • Support the BSI MEP team in tracking and organizing electrical and MEP requirements throughout all project phases, from early design through construction and commissioning.
  • Assist with reviewing MEP drawings, equipment data sheets, and contractor or supplier submissions for completeness and alignment with project expectations.
  • Participate in supervised field visits to observe installation progress, verify basic electrical and MEP conditions, and document findings for the engineering team.
  • Help coordinate communication between design, commissioning, quality, and construction teams by updating trackers, preparing meeting notes, and monitoring action items.
  • Maintain organized documentation related to design updates, technical clarifications, and electrical/MEP system changes to ensure proper traceability.
  • Support QA/QC and commissioning activities by helping prepare checklists, assemble documentation packages, and gather information needed to verify system readiness.
  • Build familiarity with electrical system integration concepts (power distribution, grounding, controls interfaces) and general MEP coordination by shadowing engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with tracking and documenting technical issues, design changes, or non‑conformance items to support timely resolution and alignment across project stakeholders.

What makes you stand out
  • Currently completing a Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to interpret basic technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to support engineering and field coordination activities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate technical documentation and design updates.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with collaboration tools such as SharePoint or MS Teams.
  • Strong communication skills to support coordination with engineering, commissioning, QA/QC, and contractor teams.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn electrical and MEP system integration concepts within a complex industrial environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow structured engineering processes and documentation methods.
  • Coursework or project experience in electrical engineering, building systems, or industrial engineering technology.
  • Familiarity with drafting or modeling software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) is an asset.
  • Exposure to quality processes, commissioning checklists, or NCR handling is considered beneficial.
