How you will CELLebrate

 

We are currently looking for an BSI (Battery Specific Infrastructure) Design Specialist based out of St. Thomas, ON

 

Our mission has started. Volkswagen Group’s largest cell factory in St. Thomas will carry out all battery activities – from processing raw materials to developing a unified Volkswagen battery to managing the European and North American gigafactories. Headquartered in Salzgitter, Germany, we are experiencing the transformation of mobility up close. Our goal is to contribute a positive impact to our global society, the environment and the economy. To reach these goals we need your POWER!

We are looking for a reliable member of the BSI team (Battery Specific Infrastructure) for the role of BSI Design Specialist.  Reporting to the Head of BSI you will be responsible for the coordination and leadership of the BSI Design related topics.  You will facilitate stakeholder engagement by coordinating input collection and manage implementing change strategies related to design.

 

This is a flex hybrid model requiring 2 days in the St. Thomas office, subject to change based on the needs and nature of this project.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Daily/Weekly/Monthly Duties:
  • Arrange design meetings with related stakeholder; prepare and distribute the meeting minutes.
  • Prepare the tender document, including TUM list, Room Books, Layouts, User requirements, etc.
  • Updates TUM, Room Book , Layouts if there are change request from other departments, deliver the change to supplier and evaluate the design change and review the claim.
  • Monitoring the design changes and update the change log weekly.
  • Tracking the design deliverable list from supplier
  • Managing the 3D model
  
 
What you need for our CELLebration
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Construction Design Management
  
 
What else can you bring
  • Experience in one or multiple system: HVAC, MEP, Automation, Fire protection, Media supply
  • Experience in Battery, Pharmaceutical, semi-conductor Clean & Dry room project management is preferred
  • Ability to adapt to and maintain flexibility with the juggling of multiple projects
  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Advanced competency with Design & 3D software( AutoCAD, Revit, 3D max, Lumion. etc )
  • Working knowledge of OneDrive, SharePoint, MS Teams, Concur and SAP strongly desired
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
